Plain-language summary
The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, or behavioral tracking SDKs. Property records and the media copies you select are stored in the app's private container on your device. MoveProof does not automatically transmit them. When you choose Share, Apple's system share sheet lets you select a destination. Files saved outside the app are then controlled by that destination.
This policy describes the MoveProof iPhone app and the public MoveProof website. The app helps create personal move-in and move-out records and exports files at your request. The website provides product information and renter checklists; it does not offer an account or upload area.
Information used by the app
MoveProof uses the property address and optional unit you enter; the rooms and move-in or move-out stage you select; condition labels; photos you choose to import or take inside the app; notes you enter; and the device time at which the app records an item. This information is used to organize your property record and generate files you request.
MoveProof does not request Location Services or GPS, contacts, microphone, advertising identifier, or cross-app tracking permission. It asks for Camera or Photos access only when you choose a feature that needs it.
Photo copies received and saved by MoveProof can contain embedded metadata such as EXIF information, and that metadata may remain in copies included in a ZIP export. Apple's Camera or Photos picker may re-encode a file, so the saved copy is not guaranteed to be byte-identical to an asset in the Photos library.
Storage and retention
Property records and selected media are stored in MoveProof's private app container until you delete an individual photo, delete a property record, clear all local data, or uninstall the app. Device backups may include app data depending on your iCloud and device-backup settings.
If MoveProof closes after copying a photo but before you save its evidence details, that uncommitted copy is removed after the app next successfully reads its local record index. A copy is preserved when the index cannot be read safely.
MoveProof generates PDF and ZIP exports in temporary app storage. Temporary exports older than seven days are periodically removed, and Clear all local data also removes temporary exports. Files you save or share outside MoveProof cannot be recalled or deleted by the app.
Sharing and third-party destinations
MoveProof does not automatically transmit your property record. When you tap Share, Apple's system share sheet lets you choose a destination such as Files, Mail, Messages, or another installed app. That destination receives and processes the exported files under its own terms and privacy practices.
Consider the sensitivity of addresses, interior photos, notes, and embedded media metadata before choosing a destination or recipient. MoveProof cannot control a file after it leaves the app.
Integrity values and important limitations
The app calculates SHA-256 values for locally stored media to help detect later byte changes. A matching hash can show that two file copies have the same bytes. It is not a trusted timestamp, proof of identity or location, notarization, legal certification, or a guarantee that a landlord, insurer, agency, or court will accept a record.
MoveProof organizes user-selected media and user-entered descriptions. It does not independently inspect a property, verify a condition, decide responsibility, or provide legal advice.
Your choices
- Deny Camera or Photos access and continue using existing records.
- Remove an individual evidence photo from its property record.
- Delete a complete property record and its stored media.
- Use Privacy & notes → Clear all local data to remove data stored by MoveProof.
- Delete exported copies separately at each destination where you saved or shared them.
The public website does not provide an account, upload form, or personalized advertising. Standard infrastructure may process basic network request data to deliver and protect the site.
