Create a property record

Add the address and optional unit, select the first inspection stage, then review the default rooms. Empty rooms can be added, renamed, or removed.

Add evidence

Take or import a photo, confirm the room and stage, choose a condition label and severity, and add a specific note.

Create an export

A property must contain at least one photo. Generate the report, then use Apple's share sheet to save or send the PDF and media ZIP.

Protect your record

Save an exported copy somewhere you control before changing phones, clearing app data, or uninstalling MoveProof.

Frequently asked questions

Where does MoveProof store my records?

Property records and selected media are stored in MoveProof’s private app container on your iPhone. MoveProof does not require an account or operate a user-data backend. Your device-backup settings may separately include app data.

Why do I receive both a PDF and a ZIP?

The English PDF is the readable evidence summary. The ZIP contains the media copies preserved by MoveProof and a JSON integrity manifest. Keep both when you want the summary and its associated files together.

Does SHA-256 prove when or where a photo was taken?

No. SHA-256 helps detect whether a preserved file’s bytes later changed. It is not a trusted timestamp, proof of identity or location, legal certification, or a guarantee of third-party acceptance.

Can I change the details after saving evidence?

Yes. You can reopen saved evidence and correct its room, stage, condition, severity, and notes without replacing the media copy preserved by MoveProof.

What happens when I clear local data?

Clear all local data removes MoveProof property records, stored media, and temporary exports from the app. It cannot delete copies you already saved or shared to another destination.

Is MoveProof legal advice or an inspection service?

No. MoveProof organizes personal moving documentation. It does not inspect or verify a property, decide responsibility, provide legal advice, notarize files, or guarantee that a record will be accepted.

Permissions and troubleshooting

Camera or Photos access is unavailable

Open iPhone Settings, find MoveProof, and review Camera and Photos permissions. You can deny either permission and continue using evidence already saved in the app.

An export cannot be generated

Confirm that the property contains at least one photo and that required English report fields use supported Latin characters and common punctuation. If a preserved media file is missing or its SHA-256 no longer matches the saved record, MoveProof stops the export instead of silently producing an incomplete bundle.

A shared file is no longer in MoveProof

PDF and ZIP exports are temporary inside the app and older temporary exports are periodically removed. A copy saved through the share sheet belongs to its destination and should be managed there.
